I. MPP3 - MYERS PARK PREMIERE 3 V 3 GAME RULES
II. RULES AND REGULATIONS
A. All teams will be governed by MPPC staff.
B. Rosters must be submitted by the first game of the season.
C. Rosters are frozen at the 3rd game & it must be signed by the team
captain.
D. A player must play in at lest 3 games to be eligible for the playoffs.
III. TEAM/PLAYER/ADMINISTRATIVE RULES
A. Grace period: There will be a 10-minute grace period fo the first game of the night only. For all other games, game time is forfeit time.
B. All teams shall be of uniform dress consisting of same color jerseys and each jersey must have at least a (6) inch number on the back. Taped and/or sharpie numbers are UNACCEPTABLE. Starting with the team's 3rd game, teams are subject to technical fouls at the start of the games or forfeits for recurring violations.
C. Forfeit games will be scored 15-0
D. All teams must begin each game with at least two (2) players on the court.
E. All players must have an ID with them for roster verification. MPPC staff can ask for this information at any time.
F. Any player who has professional, or is currently on a collegiate roster is ineligible to play in the league.
IV. BEFORE THE GAME:
A. There will be a 3 minute warm up between games. Teans will warm up simultaneously.
V. LENGTH OF THE GAME/ELAM ENDING/MERCY RULE
A. The clock will only stop on timeouts, injuries, ref need clrification with the score's table. (The clock will remain running during a free throw or technical foul shot).
B. League games will consist of two (2) 15 minute halves, with the clock stopping only for timeouts. After the first stoppage (including a made basket) in the final fie (5) minutes of the second half, the clock will stop and the target score will be calculated using the "ELAM ENDING."
C. The Elam Ending as follows: The winning team's score + 10 will = the Target Score. The first team to reach the score will be declared the winner. If there is no stoppage in the final minutes of the second half, the ELAM ENDING will be initiated. when time expires.
D. Mercy Rule: When the 5 minute mark of the second half is reached, if a team is leading by 15 or more points, the elam ending will not be initiated. The game will be declared over, and the current score will be counted as the result.
VI. STARTING THE GAME
A. The game will start with a coin toss.
B. If one team is not ready by game time: * The opposing team will get the ball at the start of the game, and that same team will get the 1st possession arrow of the game.
VII. CHECKING THE BALL
A. Ball must be checked by an offensive player passing the bll to the official.
B. Offensive player must be behind the OOB line.
C. Defensive player must be be inside of the OOB line.
D. After the ball has been checked, the ball must be passed in to a teammate and play begins.
E. After a basket has been scored or a foul called, a player must put the ball in play from the OOB line.
F. All held balls will be put into play behind the 3 point line with possession given alternately to each team (exception... if a team loss possession because they were not ready at the start of game time).
G. On defensive rebound, a player must CLEAR the ball by dribbling or passing the ball behind the 3 point line (Both feet have to be behind the 3 point line). You may score a basket on a steal or if a team shoots an airball - NO CLEARING NEEDED.
H. The three (3) second rule will apply to all offensive players.
I. Substitutions may be made after a basket or during a dead ball.
J. A made shooting foul, will result in a free throw attempt. No player will line up during free throw shooting at any point.
VIII. FOULS/FREE THROWS
A. All free throws are worth 1 point.
B. Teams will shoot and one-and-one free throw on the 7th foul and 2 free throws on the 10th foul.
C. A common foul on the florr shall result in the fouled team starting with the ball at the OOB line
D. Teams will not line up for a free throw.
E. In the case of a technical foul/unsportsmanlike foul, the offended team will be awarded 2 free throws shots and possession of the ball.
F. Players will be disqualafied after receieving their 5th foul (please note... a technical or unsportsmanlike foul counts as a personal foul).
IX. PLAYERS PLAYING TIME
A. Any player who enters a game at any time during the game without their names in the official scorebook will be assessed a technical foul.
B. Players dressed in uniform and on the bench at the start of each scheduled game may or may not play in the first half (or second half) of the game at the coaches discrection.
C. Players not dressed and not on their team bench in uniform at the start of the game and/or players arriving late to the game (once the game has officially started) - must check in at the scorers table and play in the first half of the game to be eligible to play in the second half of the game - NO EXCEPTIONS!
X. BENCH RULES
A. Only registered players and a coaches will be allowed to be seated on the designated benches before = and during their scheduled games. All other family memebers/spectators/other league coaches/players must be seated in the stands designated for spectators. Violations will result in a minimum of 1 team technical foul (2 Shots) and loss of possession. Continuious violations may result in more severe penalties at the discrection of MPPC staff.
B. At the conclusion of each scheduled game, each team is responsible for the cleaning of their bench area before the next teams can be seated - i.e. all beverages and food items or other trash such as digarded clothing, athletic tape, etc. Violations will result in a minimum of a technical foul (2 shots) and loss of possession at the start of your next scheduled game. Continuous violations may result in suspension/fines at the discrection of MPPC staff.
